The movement is what is the very foundation of the timekeeper. There are several different constructions, but most commonly they are divided into quartz (battery) and mechanical watches. The heart of all By Billgren watches is a quartz movement. Which is powered by a top-quality battery and extremely high precision. With our by BILLGREN watches, you can choose between a Japanese Quartz Miyota movement or a Swiss ISA movement. The difference between Japanese Miyota and Swizz ISA is that the Japanese movement has a water resistance of 5 ATM while ISA has 10 ATM water resistance.
The high-tech Japanese company Miyota’s movement is one of the world’s most used and well-proven. In addition, the movement has incredibly good accuracy, with a margin of error of only a few seconds per month. This makes them more accurate in their timekeeping, compared to the mechanical movement. With 5 ATM water resistance, the watch can handle occasional, short instances in water, for example when showering. We use the Japanese Miyota movement in our models Gustaf and Douglas.
