Just as we wash and clean clothes when they’re dirty, we also need to wash and clean our jewellery. By cleaning and storing them properly, the jewellery stays looking better and also lasts longer. Here we’ve gathered general advice to help you know how to take care of your by BILLGREN jewellery.

Leather is a durable material that only looks better as it ages. However, to keep it strong, you must take care of it the right way. The simplest way is to store leather jewellery separately from other jewellery. A jewellery box, storage box, or a drawer you have at home works perfectly. When your leather jewellery needs to be cleaned, do so by wiping it with a cloth. Condition with neutral leather grease or a cleaner intended for leather.

Our beaded bracelets are made of various gemstones such as lapis, tiger’s eye, jasper, agate, opal, galaxy stone, and lava stone. These are easiest to clean with a clean, lightly dampened cotton cloth. If they need more cleaning, place your bracelet in a bowl of water with a few drops of mild dish soap. Keep in mind, however, that gemstones are an organic material and therefore each stone has a unique appearance and should not be soaked in water.To maintain the original look for as long as possible, it’s important that you don’t expose your jewellery to too much bathing and washing up. It’s also not ideal to sleep with jewellery, as you can get caught on it and pull it apart. Also keep in mind that physical activities such as training can affect its lifespan.
You should also avoid bathing with your steel jewellery, especially in chlorinated and salt water. If you feel that your steel jewellery has lost its shine, you can clean it with lukewarm water and polish it again with a clean cloth. Usually, this is enough. If you feel it needs a thorough cleaning, you can easily do so with a mild cleaner such as: soft soap and water. It’s important that you dry the jewellery thoroughly afterwards.

Many of our bracelets with a clasp made of stainless steel are durable but should not be exposed to water. The clasp is held together by a magnet that is not stainless, making your bracelet extra sensitive to water.
